Quilt Show History

The North Hastings Quilt Club has held a Quilt Show every 2 years since 2000. Our shows include our raffle quilt, all the proceeds of which goes back into the community. We display large and small quilts, club challenges, features and miscellaneous. There are works in progress, the Bear Paw General Store, previous show winners, toonie draw, merchants' mall and the Bear Paw Den for a home-style lunch.

The Challenges for this show were ‘Think Pink’, ‘Rocky Mountain Ridges’ and ‘Borders Abound’. We had demos given by some of our vendors in the Merchants’ Mall. We had a display of ‘what the N.H.Q.C. does in the community’. There were door prizes, a toonie draw, and the Bear Paw General Store. We had ‘name that flower’ blocks where you were to guess the flower from the interpretation in the blocks. On display was the Maynooth Library quilt which consists of some blocks made by our members depicting this area. There were also quilts made by children in the community. You could relax and have a delicious lunch or just tea and coffee in the Bear Paw Den. Raffle tickets were sold on our queen size quilt along with 2nd prize of a lap quilt and 3rd prize, a tote bag.
